I was told at a committee meeting last week by a co-committee friend that is takes 22 times for you to do something before it becomes a habbit that you don't think about.

Of course this means that some university somewhere spent probably an obscene amount of money doing a study to find this out. (Rolling eyes) However, now that we have this life changing information at our disposal, we should just run with it. lol ;)Malicious Intenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05477868628325387881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2682208093148648117.post-80979307552222000912008-02-14T07:01:00.000-08:002008-02-14T07:01:00.000-08:00OOooooo those sound like great suggestions, MI, an...OOooooo those sound like great suggestions, MI, and many of them you listed were ones I had never heard before! For instance -- I didn't know that taking calcium before bed would help with sleep! Cool! Thanks! And I sure know what you mean about not liking lips being dry -- We have so much in common in a way - I always have to have my aloe lip balm and water by the bed. :-)

A lot of those other suggestions I really need to work on ..... but they really would be good things for me to have as routine.

TY again. :-DAuroraSkyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07867880721504137716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2682208093148648117.post-7883840273947888892008-02-14T04:46:00.000-08:002008-02-14T04:46:00.000-08:00I did years of no sleeping, still need to medicate...I did years of no sleeping, still need to medicate to this day. But I find having a really good routine and schedule that I stick to that helps.
~NO caffeine
~Take meds same time every night
~Go to bed at the same time every night
~Turn off TV by 10pm. (tv will keep you up, your brain needs time to stop working.)
~Sometimes a cup of sleeptime tea helps
~Hot bath before bedtime
~Make sure I have everything that makes me comfy like pillows and good bed linens
~Vaporizer on, so I don't dry out
~Burt's Bee's lip balm...I go nuts if my lips dry out.
~Glass of water by bed, so I don't have to get up.
~Taking calcium at night can also help with sleep
~Don't eat past 8 p.m.

I know this all sounds goofy, but they are all parts of my bed time routine that I have peiced together over the years in the desperate attempt to get a good nights rest. So whatever your recipe is, stick to it religiously every night so your body learns to fall into that routine.Malicious Intenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05477868628325387881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2682208093148648117.post-64750009667444931272008-02-13T22:51:00.000-08:002008-02-13T22:51:00.000-08:00WHOOHOOOO!!!!! (IMO)

Yeah -- I ended up calling and cancelling all my appointments today and stayed home and slept. Wheeee.... Now I will try to deal with guilt around staying home and sleeping. :-/AuroraSkyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07867880721504137716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2682208093148648117.post-3486777916944799142008-02-13T21:57:00.000-08:002008-02-13T21:57:00.000-08:00Ah... no... Catty Sis would rapidly be Six-foot-under Sis if she went without sleep at _ALL_ >:-(... no fun there.

Hope you can find the right combination of factors to get you asleep regularly... we _all_ need to sleep, for a part of the 24-hr cycle, to "recharge the batteries" :). Denying it won't do you any good, nor will using artificial stimulants to keep yourself awake :(. Will make you more creative as well :).

Just fix the problems as they are identified, and we'll all have much more fun *huggles* (^_^)/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
